Dwarven Deepcap Delights recipe

Stuffed Cave Mushrooms with Stonecheese & Mountain Herbs

Price: 8 copper pieces

Serving: 3 caps per plate

Ah, now here’s a dish that’ll make yer mouth water before it even reaches the table! Throndin harvests these beauties fresh from the Underfarm caverns, where the mushrooms grow fat and meaty in the mineral-rich soil. Each cap’s hollowed out and stuffed with a blend of aged stonecheese—that’s the hard, sharp cheese we dwarves cure in the salt caves for three winters—mixed with crushed ironbread crumbs and wild cavern basil.

The whole thing gets roasted in the forge-side oven until the cheese bubbles and browns. The earthiness of the deepcaps, the sharpness of the stonecheese, and that hint of herb… it’s enough to make a grown dwarf weep into his ale.

Hearth Boon

After consuming a full serving of Dwarven Deepcap Delights, you gain darkvision out to 20 feet for 1 hour. If you already have darkvision, its range extends by 10 feet for the duration. The minerals in the cave-grown mushrooms temporarily enhance low-light perception.

At Your Table: Use large portobello caps stuffed with breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese, and dried basil. Roast at 375°F until golden.
